OUR BELIEFS

We believe the Bible is inspired by God and relevant for our lives today. We believe in the Virgin birth of Jesus. We believe in Jesus Christ as God’s Son, who walked this earth, lived a perfect life, died on the Cross to pay the penalty for our sin, and rose again on the third day. We believe that Jesus now sits at the Father’s right hand interceding for us.

We believe in the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. When Jesus left this earth He promised to send the Holy Spirit to be our comforter, our helper, and our teacher. The Holy Spirit helps us to live righteous lives and to produce the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). We believe that this is the evidence of the Holy Spirit at work in us.

We believe that God’s greatest commandment to us is to love Him supremely and to love others as we love ourselves. We believe that the purpose of our church is to make disciples. We believe that each individual person must make a personal decision to trust Jesus as their Savior and that every believer must make Jesus Lord of their life. We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ and an ultimate day of judgment for all of human kind.

We believe in and practice Holy Communion as a remembrance of the sacrifice and suffering of Jesus on the cross. We believe that water baptism is a public witness of our decision to follow the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe prayer is an essential part of every believer’s daily life and that it is our personal means of communication with God. We believe, as one of our heritage hymns puts it that: “The Bible is our Rule of faith and Christ alone is Lord.”
